Top score from this year’s students: 9.1/10
The students who finished the school year on May 9, 2026, are full of praise for their year at Hurdal Verk.
“We might have the most satisfied students in the country,” says a proud principal, Frode Mikal Nilssen. The evaluation of the school year warms the principal’s heart. At the same time, he believes it’s not that surprising.
“We’ve had an absolutely incredible group of students, again this year.” “We have a culture of creating a completely unique social community at Hurdal Verk, and that is reflected in the students’ well-being,” says Nilssen.

A folk high school is only as good as the people at the school, and the people at this school are 10/10. The teachers show that they care and see us, and the school is ACTUALLY a family.
I’m so happy with everything, so grateful for this year. For me, it has been especially good because of the staff. How you are engaged and really see each individual. And that you don’t have to take life too seriously.
Very satisfied, I like that it’s so varied and that we’re thrown into things a bit. It has made me better at taking on challenges and not overthinking so much. But it has been within a safe framework.
I loved the trip with the class! I was in seventh heaven throughout the entire trip. Despite the fact that not everything went smoothly, we as a class were good at being patient, taking things as they come, and standing together. It was fantastic to be on a trip and be enriched by all these new experiences. I am incredibly grateful that I got the opportunity to be a part of that.
