The reality series “The Cooking School with Truls and Hellstrøm” was filmed at Hurdal Verk Folk High School.
“The Cooking School with Truls and Hellstrøm” is feel-good TV with plenty of humor, where 12 celebrities get to learn how to cook from Hellstrøm. Season 3 will air on TV2 and TV2 Play in the fall of 2025.

—Making TV is a team effort, and we are completely dependent on working with good partners to achieve what we want, says Kristine Berg Tollefsen, production manager at PLAN-B. —Season 1 wouldn’t have been a success if it weren’t for the great cooperation and the flexibility that Hurdal Verk has shown us from the start. The Cooking School has become a brand with a strong connection to Hurdal Verk, so it was natural for us to continue filming here. The fact that Hurdal Verk has used the marketing opportunity from The Cooking School to create their own culinary program says a lot about how good they are at spotting opportunities and taking the chances they get to create something more.

Frode Mikal Nilssen, principal at Hurdal Verk Folk High School, is also excited and shares that the school was so inspired by the show that they built a brand-new school kitchen after Season 1 and developed a new program starting in the fall of 2024.
—We have many popular food-related electives, and “The Cooking School with Truls and Hellstrøm” inspired us to take this to a whole new level, says the principal. The first new culinary program was EAT: Exploring Amazing Tastes, which started with a full class in the fall of 2024, and in the fall of 2025, we launched another food program called Snadder.
