Egypt

One of the highlights of the major is a two-week trip with cultural experiences and meetings with Bedouins in Egypt.

Snorkeling and diving in the Red Sea, a summit hike to Mount Sinai, an excursion to Cairo with the Pyramids and the Sphinx, personal encounters with indigenous people, cultural experiences, and exciting bazaars. Modes of transport include both camel and ATV. Furthermore, the climate is excellent for cardio training and hiking. The possibilities are many when we set course for Egypt!

Thailand

A travel adventure with a backpacker feel to Bangkok – Kanchanaburi – Koh Chang.

You will visit Bangkok, one of the world’s most vibrant cities and a meeting point for backpackers from all over the world. We seek out adventure at the fantastic temple areas as well as in the backstreets where not many travelers go.

In Kanchanaburi, we get a unique mix of tropical wilderness, exciting animal encounters, and insight into authentic Thai daily life.

Koh Chang is especially known for its lush landscape, great beaches, and good opportunities for diving and snorkeling. We experience colorful nature both below and above the water’s surface and learn more about how corals and underwater life can be preserved. Check out what we did here last year!

Daily life

Daily teaching consists of everything from training, ball games, activities, and trip planning ahead of the study trips. We adapt the activities somewhat according to the interests of the group.

We spend plenty of time before the trips working in groups and planning specific days. Here you learn to be independent, and we also emphasize personal development through collaboration with others.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is folk high school expensive?
Some believe that folk high school is expensive, but it is significantly cheaper to live in a dormitory at a folk high school than to rent a student room.

With us, you get your own room, access to a washing machine and dryer, a kitchenette with a refrigerator and stove, common rooms, a fitness room, a gym, and other activity rooms, and prepared meals 4 times a day.
What does the price for Adventure cover?
The price includes study trips to Egypt and Thailand and all activities for the major in Norway. At least half-board is included on our travels. However, we reserve the right to make price adjustments due to circumstances beyond the school’s control, such as significant changes in flight prices, exchange rates, fuel costs, government mandates, security situations, war, unrest, or cancellations in transport services. In such cases, it may be necessary to adjust the price to carry out the trip. The school will strive to limit any cost increase as much as possible. If the price increase exceeds 10% of the major’s price, the student will have the right to withdraw from the trip without further costs.
