- You must be at least 18 years old before the school year begins. The school’s educational program is aimed at young people transitioning into adulthood (“young adults” aged 18–25). We emphasize a social and developmental community where the age range affects the learning environment. We therefore have an upper age limit of 25 years. In special cases, exceptions may be made after an individual assessment.
- The school requests your most recent available transcript or grade report, including conduct, behavior, and attendance, as part of the overall assessment of your application. This information is used to understand the applicant’s background and any needs for follow-up and accommodations, as well as to contribute to a safe and positive learning environment for all students. - The school emphasizes a student composition that promotes positive learning and community experiences. During admissions, consideration may therefore be given to the overall student group, including social composition, group dynamics, and gender balance, if this is deemed to contribute to a positive social and educational environment.
- The school continuously assesses what forms of accommodations are academically and practically feasible within the school’s framework.
- Applicants who believe they are particularly affected by the admission criteria may submit a reasoned inquiry to the principal.
If you have special needs, such as requirements for accommodations, extra follow-up, diagnoses, or anything else that could be significant for the year, you must state this in your application so that we can make the necessary arrangements in advance. Students with special needs should apply early so that the school has the opportunity to consider various forms of accommodation.
Priority order when programs are full
If there are more qualified applicants than available places, admission is based on an overall assessment considering:
- The school’s capacity for responsible follow-up and accommodations
- Composition of the student group
- Motivation for the school year and program
- Contribution to a positive social and educational learning environment
Admission is based on a completed application form together with a copy of your transcript or grade report from previous schooling. All folk high schools begin student admissions on November 15. This means we send out the first offer letters then, but you can apply well before that.
We have no application deadline, and we admit students on a rolling basis right up until the start of school, as long as places are available.
If you are offered a spot at the school, you must:
- Accept the offer using the response form in your offer letter.
- Pay the invoice for the registration fee.
- To continue as a student, the payment plan must be followed. The diploma is awarded once all invoices have been paid.
